This was the tune that inspired the idea for the "Pickers For Grinners" project. It started out as a riff (they all do) for an instrumental guitar idea in homage to the style of Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers Band. I enlisted some old friends of mine from PEI to help out. I had my buddy and on again off again band mate for the past 20 years Gary Chipman tackle the solo. He's one of my favorite players ever, it always sounds like he's having a bar fight with a telecaster!

I was having so much fun messing around with the idea of writing a guitar instrumental that I thought I'd spread that challenge and fun around. As the Halifax L&M store manager I'm in the fortunate position of being in direct contact with fantastic guitarists every day. Once I ran the fundraiser cause by these great musicians lots of hands went up to help.

They asked me what I was looking for. I said, "Just pig out on all things guitar, performance, tone, effects etc... just go crazy and have fun, Atkins to Zappa, it's all fair game." This compilation is a great cross section of styles from a killer group of players. I'm honoured to be on the same collection with them.
